The Faculty of Veterinary Science of the University of Pretoria awards an annual prize to their student who excelled in the small stock category. The worthy recipient of the National Woolgrowers’ Association of SA (NWGA) award for 2017 is Dr. Kelly Bronwyn Yui. She satisfied all the necessary criteria, including sustained acceptable academic performance in small stock course, high standard of practical application of knowledge related to small stock, special interest in small stock and participated in a small stock elective.

Kelly comes from a sheep farming background and most academics at the Faculty agreed that she will likely join a practice where she can be a sheep and goat veterinarian. Her passion for small stock was noticeable throughout her studies.

The trophy was handed over by Prof. Gareth Bath during the oath taking ceremony on Friday, 24 November 2017.  The NWGA is proud to be associated with such a remarkable young lady !

Prof. Gareth Bath presented the trophy to Kelly and congratulates her. Dr Rebone Moerane – HOD of Production Animal Studies (seated and looking proudly towards Kelly) and the Dean, Prof. Darrell Abernethy standing behind Kelly
